GRAND OPENING spin in Jerry Hansen's swift Lola-Chev Formula A racing car was enjoyed at Donnybrooke Speedway Aug. 11, 1968 by then Lt. Gov. James B. Goetz, shown being tucked into the driver's seat by Hansen alongside the Edina driver's wife while an estimated 22,000 looked on. Most of the world's leading drivers have since competed over the three-mile course located just north of Brainerd along Highway 371 and five major events are scheduled this summer (Daily Dispatch photo).
